The other half of a tactics MMO

3 Kingdoms Online Remastered (Chinese title 三國鼎立Online Remastered, Steam AppID 4770830) is a free-to-play turn-based tactical MMO published by Chinesegamer. It released on Steam on 11 August 2026, supports online multiplayer and co-op style rooms, and ships with Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese UI only—there is no English in-game interface. Signature systems include 15v15 multiplayer boards, ten unit types, 27 terrains, remastered officer portraits, AI auto-battle, nation war city sieges, and legendary campaigns such as Hulao Pass, Guandu, Changban Bridge, and Red Cliffs.

Battles make highlight videos; internal affairs keep your faction fed. The remaster advertises personnel appointments, land development, commerce, waterworks, deployments, and training—systems that turn you from arena tourist into a long-war participant. Skip them and your Nation War performance stalls even with pretty remastered portraits.

Core loops

Personnel and appointments

Assign officers to posts that match strengths. A brilliant strategist (謀士) may be wasted on a pure combat queue if your city needs administration. Rotate injured or fatigued units out of front-line deployment lists. Use the officer encyclopedia tabs under Factions to track who you actually own versus who you only saw on a trailer.

Development and commerce

Open land, push commercial buildings, and keep resource pipelines alive. Launch gifts from Launch Rewards are a spike, not a forever income. Reinvest surplus into training rather than panic gacha the moment a shiny banner appears.

Waterworks and infrastructure

Infrastructure tasks sound boring until a siege week arrives and your repair/recruit speed matters. Schedule them the same way you schedule campaign farms on Campaigns.

Military training and deployment

Training grounds convert time into unit readiness. Deploy the right squads to the right borders. A cavalry (騎兵) wing belongs on open approaches; infantry (步兵) and engineers (工兵) belong on gates. Master the ten foundation unit types: infantry (步兵), cavalry (騎兵), archers (弓兵), light infantry (輕裝兵), strategists (謀士), medics (藥師), engineers (工兵), taoists (道士), songstresses (歌妓), and barbarians (蠻兵). Each role answers a different map problem—front-line holding, flank strikes, ranged pressure, mobility, disruption, healing, fortification, mystical control, buff/debuff performance, or raw shock damage.

Daily peacetime checklist

  1. Claim mail via How to Redeem.
  2. Collect internal affair completions and re-queue the next timers.
  3. Train the officers in your active Beginner Builds or PvP Builds list first.
  4. Fill collection rewards in the remastered portrait / encyclopedia systems when cheap.
  5. Enter one campaign or room fight so your fingers remember How to Play timing.
  6. Review terrain notes if tomorrow’s map differs—Terrain.

Linking economy to war

Before a scheduled city assault, freeze luxury spending for 24–48 hours. Stock medics (藥師), repair tools, and replacement gear. Align faction comps using Faction Comps. If English chat is scarce, prepare a personal checklist so Chinese menus do not slow your pre-war prep.

Common economy mistakes

Upgrading random officers not in your war twelve; ignoring light infantry (輕裝兵) scouts until the enemy already flanked; spending all launch resources the first night; never banking materials for engineer (工兵) breaks; and treating auto-battle farming as a reason to ignore manual skill—read Auto-Battle.

Progression milestones

Day one: gifts + Inoti + tutorial. Week one: stable campaign clears and filled training queues. Week two: war role specialization and faction-aligned comps. Ongoing: encyclopedia completion without neglecting the living roster.

Internal affairs also smooth the experience for players who can only log shorter sessions—the AI combat hosting helps, but menus still need human decisions about who gets resources.

Manage the kingdom on purpose. The remasters who only queue fights eventually meet an opponent who did both.
