How to use this page

3 Kingdoms Online Remastered (Chinese title 三國鼎立Online Remastered, Steam AppID 4770830) is a free-to-play turn-based tactical MMO by Chinesegamer, released on Steam on 11 August 2026. It is online multiplayer, Steam-only, with Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese UI only (no English interface). Expect 15v15 boards, ten unit types, 27 terrains, remastered portraits, AI auto-battle, nation war, and campaigns such as Hulao Pass, Guandu, Changban Bridge, and Red Cliffs.

Use the interactive widget below while drafting. Then read the English role notes so you understand why a swap works—not only that a color turned green.

Role reminders

The ten unit types are infantry (步兵), cavalry (騎兵), archers (弓兵), light infantry (輕裝兵), strategists (謀士), medics (藥師), engineers (工兵), taoists (道士), songstresses (歌妓), and barbarians (蠻兵).

Infantry stabilize. Cavalry punish exposed backs. Archers need pockets. Light infantry peel and raid. Strategists swing skill turns. Medics keep everyone honest—protect Hua Tuo if you claimed him. Engineers win objectives. Taoists contest mystical lines. Songstresses amplify or doom depending on positioning. Barbarians smash hesitating fronts.

Deep explanations: Unit Types. Team templates: Beginner Builds, PvP Builds, Faction Comps.

Draft checklist

  1. List the enemy’s visible types.
  2. Query the tool for each threat.
  3. Ensure your medic still has anchors after swaps.
  4. Re-check tiles on Terrain Reference because terrain can invert a “good” matchup.
  5. Decide manual versus Auto-Battle—counters matter less if AI ignores them.

Mode-specific notes

Campaign NPCs telegraph patterns—Campaigns. Humans hide swaps—Nation War and room PvP. Always redeploy after custom terrain rules.

English UI tip

If you cannot read skill names, at least tag each roster slot with its unit type icon and this tool’s advice. Pair with How to Play deployment habits and claim power from Launch Rewards so you have spare officers to swap.

Counter first, fashion second—fifteen allies cannot save one ignored matchup web.

Example drafts using the widget

Example A: enemy shows cavalry, cavalry, songstress. You add infantry anchors and light infantry peel, keep medic deep, and delay your own songstress. Example B: enemy shows engineer heavy gate break. You double infantry on the objective tiles and bring barbarians for the countercharge after the wall strain. Example C: enemy shows double strategist. You spread deployment and refuse to clump for free AoE.

Coaching use

Paste the enemy types into chat as English role words even if teammates answer in Chinese. Shared role language is enough to ready a counter set. Then lock the formation and fight manually until the pattern is boring enough for limited auto-battle farms.

Extra practice block for English-speaking tacticians

Open this page beside the Chinese client whenever you draft. Say each unit type or terrain decision out loud before you click confirm. If you cannot explain the choice in one English sentence, you are guessing. Guessing is fine in a private farm room and expensive in nation war. After the match, write three lines: what you intended, what the opponent forced, and which wiki page you will reread. That tiny journal turns tools from toys into coaching.

Repeat the exercise across Hulao Pass, Guandu, Changban Bridge, and a casual multiplayer room. Bring the same core officers so the only variable is the ground or the human reads. When the Unit Counter Tool and Terrain Reference Tool disagree with your gut, trust the loss log first, then adjust Beginner Builds or PvP Builds on the next login. Claim any new mail gifts afterward so resource piles do not distract you mid-study session.

Also revisit Getting Started if a friend joins mid-week, and make them claim Inoti before they copy your war twelve blindly. Shared tools only help when shared foundations exist.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about units, gifts, campaigns, and nation war.

Does the tool include all ten types?

Yes—it is built around the ten foundation unit types listed in official materials.

Can terrain override a counter?

Yes. Always confirm tiles on the Terrain Reference page.

Is this for PvE or PvP?

Both. Humans punish mismatches faster, but campaign clears also improve with good answers.

Where do I learn roles in prose?

See the Unit Types page under Officers.
